How to get all the academic certificates from the comfort of home?
Well,
there are two ways in which you can get all your academic certificates in the
comfort of your home. First, you can ask transcript service providers
that can help to fetch all your college certificates. Second, you can request a
copy of your certificates like SSC Marksheet, HSC Marksheet, transcripts, etc.
through Digilocker. And the good news is, certificates issued through
Digilocker are as much valid as the certificates issued by the original issuer.
Surprised?
The
University Grants Commission (UGC) that regulates all the academic functioning
has directed all the universities and colleges to accept mark sheets, degrees, transcripts,
caste certificates, etc. available on Digilocker to be considered valid. UGC
controls the National Academic Depository (NAD) which is a scheme where all the
institutes store the academic awards of their students in a digital format. So
the students have the facility to access all these certificates without any
physical interference, anytime and anywhere.
Ministry
of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) operates Digilocker. Under
the provision of the Information Technology Act, 2000, all the certificates
available in the Digilocker are valid documents. You can log in to the
Digilocker by entering your Aadhar card number and OTP on the aadhar linked
number. You will be able to create a username and password after the first
login through OTP. In the portal, you can fetch several documents like income
certificate, degree mark-sheet, transcript certificate, driving license, etc.
The
availability of these documents in the portal depends on the original issuer.
If they have uploaded all the certificates you can easily access them anytime,
anywhere. While currently not all the universities have uploaded transcript
certificates, it is recommended that you contact transcript service providers
to fetch your documents at the earliest to avoid any further delay.
